This study investigated 560 undergraduate students. After investigation, the proportion of sleep disturbance (PSQI ≥ 8) was 37.5%. Students with sleep disturbance found that psychological symptoms scores such as depression and anxiety were obviously poor (p < 0.01). Sleep quality was negatively correlated with all mental health items (r = -0.32 to -0.48). Through Mediation analysis, we find that rumination has become a partial mediator in this relationship (effect size = -0.18). In addition, social anxiety has a moderating effect (δr =0. 04. 04). In addition, the researchers found that academic stress, using electronic device before going to bed and irregular sleep-wake schedule are the main external risk factors related to poor sleep quality. This study reveals the cognitive and emotional ways of the relationship between sleep and mental health, which can be used as an experimental reference for intervention methods in higher education institutions.Downloads
