Against the backdrop of growing complexity and rising uncertainty in global supply chains, digital transformation has become a critical path for enterprises to enhance their competitiveness. For global technology giants like Apple Inc. in particular, the resilience and efficiency of its supply chain directly affect its market position and sustainable development. However, when promoting the application of digital twin technology, Apple’s supply chain faces a prominent digital paradox: while digital tools improve the visibility and control of the supply chain, they may also trigger new vulnerabilities such as data security risks, rigid technological dependence, and insufficient organizational adaptability, which pose severe challenges to its overall resilience building. Taking Apple’s supply chain as the research object, this paper integrates case analysis and literature research methods to deeply explore the dual effects of digital twin technology in supply chain management. Focusing on three dimensions of technology integration, data governance and organizational collaboration, it analyzes the generation mechanism and evolution path of the digital paradox, and constructs a dynamic management framework to balance digital empowerment and risk control. The study adopts multi-source information collection and simulation to compare the resilience performance of Apple’s supply chain before and after the introduction of digital twins, reveals how technology application improves the ability to respond to disruption events through real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance and scenario simulation, and identifies potential vulnerabilities exacerbated by data silos, algorithmic bias and power imbalance in the supply chain. It further proposes paradox management strategies, emphasizing the core role of adaptive learning and ecological cooperation in resolving contradictions. Based on the above research, this paper demonstrates that digital twin is not a simple technical solution, but a complex process requiring systematic management. Its effective implementation can help Apple’s supply chain achieve resilience upgrading in a dynamic environment, provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for global supply chain digitalization practices, and promote the industry to seek a sustainable balance between technological innovation and risk management.Downloads
