Abstract

This study adopts the “lazy economy” as its research framework, operationalizing the degree of exposure to the lazy economy through two observable variables: consumer behavioral dependency and digital service penetration. Using bad debt rates, risk capital, complaint rates, and the number of regulatory penalties as corporate risk metrics, the study empirically examines the impact of the lazy economy on the risks faced by internet finance firms and investigates the moderating role of intelligent risk control. The findings indicate that the higher the exposure to the “lazy economy,” the higher the risk level of internet finance enterprises; intelligent risk control exerts a significant negative moderating effect, effectively mitigating the risk shocks caused by the “lazy economy.” Finally, based on the research conclusions, this paper proposes optimization strategies for intelligent risk control in internet finance enterprises, providing practical guidance for the industry’s sound development.
