Abstract

We are pleased to present the proceedings of the International Conference on Humanities, Education and Economic Development (ICHEED 2026), held in Hong Kong, China. The conference’s topics include the reshaping of humanistic values in the digital age, educational reform driven by technology and inclusive pedagogy, and the interaction between human capital, institutional quality, and regional economic development. It explores theoretical breakthroughs and practical pathways for social progress, and addresses critical issues such as bridging educational inequality, fostering talent ecosystems that align with labor market demands, and designing resilient economic policies in a rapidly changing global environment. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, paper presentations, and collaborative workshops, ICHEED 2026 seeks to translate interdisciplinary insights into actionable strategies—supporting the modernization of education systems, promoting culturally aware and people-centered development models, and providing forward-looking solutions for building equitable, knowledge-driven, and prosperous societies. The papers included in this volume were selected after a rigorous peer-review process. These contributions reflect the latest trends and offer practical solutions in the fields of humanities, education and economic development.
